The year that went and the year to come...

2006 has been a really exciting year for me. During the past 12 months I have been lucky to be inspired by many exceptional people on various fascinating projects. Thank you to all of you wonderful people. 2006 challenged me to the full but that is also one of the key reasons the year has been so special. After almost two years in an office, I had almost forgotten how rewarding it is to push yourself out of your own comfort zone. Not only do you rediscover your own identity but you also feel 110% alive. It is a fantastic feeling... 2006 has had many highlights but a few of the really special ones were... Walking along the Camino de Santiago, Spain in April...

Visiting magical Zanzibar...
Working on Ibo Island in Mozambique...
Standing up for what you believe in on Trafalgar Square...

Hill walking in Wales...

Good times in Denmark, including Christmas... As the end of the year approaches, I am looking forward to an equally exciting and challenging New Year. 2007 has many changes in stall for me. The first will be my impending move to Australia in mid-February. After 7 years in London and almost 9 years in the UK, a really exciting PhD project has convinced me that it is time to explore new horizons again - this time in the land down under... Moving to the other end of the earth inevitably means that I will be geographically distant from many good friends and my family. I do hope you will all stay in touch. I will keep this weblog up to date, so you can find me... To all of you in the wizard that is Oz, I look forward to being closer to you. Happy New Year to all of you - may it be a really special one.
