A London phenomenon…

We probably all agree that it is the small things in life that make a difference... Well, one of the smaller things in life that is making a real difference to me at the moment is the sound of singing blackbirds during the early morning hours before the sun rises and the hustle and bustle of the big smog starts. I can’t help but smile despite the fact that I would really rather be asleep! Despite the beauty of this phenomenon, it is also a freak of nature. Blackbirds are not supposed to be singing in the middle of the night when the break of dawn is still several hours away! It is the light pollution of London that is the cause. It seems that in a city that never sleeps the blackbirds tend not to either…
